What is dhoop (dhoop batti)?

Dhoop batti is solid incense shaped from resins, herbs and oils — no bamboo stick inside. It gives a denser, longer-lasting smoke than agarbatti, which makes it the traditional choice for pooja and aarti.

What is the difference between dhoop and agarbatti?

Agarbatti is paste rolled onto a bamboo stick; dhoop is the solid incense itself, with no core. Dhoop burns thicker and slower — see the full comparison.

How do I burn dhoop at home?

Light the tip, let it flame for a few seconds, then blow it out and stand it in a dhoop holder or on a heat-safe plate. Our dhoop self-burns — no charcoal disc needed.

Which dhoop is best for pooja?
